Progress Made
In the past year, the Twin City Model Railroad Museum has been working hard to put your donations to work! We are
requesting bids for new exhibit signage, have added more interactive components to our layouts, began working on more STEM education components, and created a parade and special events train to increase awareness and offer a new amenity.
We promised to use last year's dontions for these tasks and we are following through! We also did the more mundane stuff like made mechanical improvements, covered increasing utility costs, and paid back COVID-era loans. In fact, this year may be the first in a very long time where we won't have to borrow money to cover operations during our slower times.
We are grateful to have a community that supports our efforts and an amazing group of volunteers that keelp our trains running and operations humming!
Next Steps
This year, our GiveMN fundraising is focused on
preserving and providing access to our archive of classic toy trains by creating a Resource Room. The room will be used for birthday parties, special events, presentations and seminars, and other small gatherings and meetings. Funds raised would be used for:
· New vinyl plank flooring to replace
the worn carpet.
· Removal/replacement of demo windows left by former tenant.
· Relocation of
entry door to better location.
· Removal of closet and installation of cabinets and counter-tops.
·
Installation of Smart Display, wall bracket, web cam, and presentation equipment.
· Creation of a library annex, where guests and museum members can review library materials and artifacts from our archives.
We are hopeful that our Give to the Max fundraising effort and a successful Night
Trains season will help us continue to turn our museum into a world-class facility that can be an asset to the local community and beyond!
We thank your for your consideration. And remember, your donation is fully tax deductible and you can start making donation pledges today, which will be applied on November 16th! We know that you receive many requests for support during this season and we truly appreciate all donations.
