Night Trains Final Run of the 2011 - 12 Season

The Milwaukee RoadJoin the Twin City Model Railroad Museum for the final episode of the 2011 - 2012 Night Trains season on Saturday, February 25, 2012, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., when TCMRM features the Milwaukee Road.

Our special guests will be the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America (RHMA), also known as Friends of the 261. RHMA is a non-profit organization based in Minnesota whose mission is to promote public understanding of the history of railroading in the Midwest by preserving, restoring, operating and interpreting historic locomotives and rail cars.

Railroading Heritage of Midwest America will have information about becoming members of RHMA and their upcoming steam excursions behind the rebuilt Milwaukee Road 261. The Milwaukee Road 261 is a 4-8-4, steam-powered locomotive owned and maintained by RHMA/Friends of the 261, which runs seasonal train excursions.

The steam engine was rebuilt in 1993 and again in 2010 - 2011, and has logged more than 25,000 miles under its own power since that time.

The Milwaukee RoadThe Twin City Model Railroad Museum will feature the Milwaukee Road on many of the layouts--including models of the 261 and its passenger fleet-- that will be operating that evening at its locations in Bandana Square and the Chimney's Building as it concludes its annual Night Trains season, a season that has drawn over 4,400 visitors to date, (more than the total for the 2010-2011 season) to the Twin City Model Railroad Museum.
