Night Trains Season Ends This Month!
February 16, 2013
Night Trains

Our Night Trains Season ends this month (February) with a Night Trains Finale on February 23rd.  All Night Trains events run for 3 hours, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the Saturday nights remaining in February.

Straus Brothers Donation

The Twin City Model Railroad Museum recently received an extensive collection of HO Scale trains and a layout from Joe and Tom Strauss of Coon Rapids, MN.

In the next several months, the museum will consider plans to display and utilize this fabulous collection.

To see what’s coming, come to the Toy Train Division, Saturday, February 16th, when Joe and Tom will be present to visit with guests and to display some of their gift. Thanks guys.

Milwaukee Road Day—February 16th

Milwaukee Road

Fans of the Milwaukee railroad join us Saturday, February 16th for TCMRM’s salute to the Milwaukee Road, when we feature trains of the Milwaukee Road operating on many of the TCMRM’s operating layouts.

So put on your Milwaukee gear, and join us. There will be Milwaukee prints for sale 2pm-9pm and John Cartwright, local artist specializing in drawings of railroad facilities, will be selling his depot drawings at the museum, so come and pick up a print of your favorite depot.

Milwaukee fans will also want to stop at the Toy Train Division in the Chimney’s Building location, to visit with Tom Straus, a retired fireman on the Milwaukee Road.

Tom has a comprehensive history and collection of file photos of every diesel locomotive ever run on the Milwaukee Road, all meticulously hand written in journals, which in itself is work of art.  Any information that you ever wanted to know about a particular locomotive Tom will likely have available.

Speaking of the Milwaukee Road, “The Friends of the 261” are planning a round trip excursion from Minneapolis to Duluth on the 261 the weekend of May 11-12, in observance of National Train Day.  If you ever wanted to ride an old steam engine, visit www.261.com for details.
