Circus by Rails

Come one come all to “The Circus by Rail Exhibit” at The Twin City Model Railroad Museum in Bandana Square, St Paul Minnesota, where Zellmar Bros Ring 80 of Circus Model Builders Inc. will display a fantastic array of circus models.

Circus Model Builders Inc is an international group dedicated to preserving circus thru models of various shows both present and past in miniature. Zellmar Bros Ring 80 is a group of members from Minnesota that show together as often as possible in the area. Many of the members have shown their models around the country and for hundreds of thousands of people!  “The Circus by Rail” Exhibit will feature modelers from Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska.

Come see hundreds of elephant, horses, lions, tigers and bears all in miniature displayed in HO, O, Half inch and Inch scales for your pleasure.  See many of the famous circus acts from the past all in different scales from 1/8th inch = a foot to 1 inch = a foot.  See a colorful cavalcade of clowns cavorting, performers decked out in costumes and of course the colossal parade wagons rolling down the streets of Small Town USA! All this and more in miniature!!!!! This event promises to be a kaleidoscope of color and wonder for ages from 1 to 101!

The show will take place at historic Bandana Square, 1021 Bandana Boulevard East, Saint Paul, Minnesota, the home TCMRM’s O Scale Railroad layout located on the 2nd floor in Suite 222.  Bandana Square was constructed in 1885 and once housed a Northern Pacific Railway repair shop.  Admissions to this special exhibit are included in the Museum’s normal admission price of $6 per person, children 4 and under are admitted free of charge.  Exhibit hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14, Noon to 5:00 pm.

Circus Trains

TCMRM will honor our nation’s veterans and families of current military personnel on Veterans Day weekend by granting free admission to those with a military, or dependent, id card.

TCMRM will also donate 20% of its proceeds from the weekend admissions to military family organizations.

The museum’s layouts will run military trains throughout the weekend reminiscent of when trains moved troops and equipment to shipping ports for deployment abroad to war zones.

Night Trains Extras Added

Circus Trains

Normally our annual Night Trains Season begins November 24th (the Saturday after Thanksgiving) and continues every (and only on) Saturday night until February 23th.

However due to overwhelming demand, TCMRM has decided to add two Night Trains Extras to the schedule—a premiere on November 23 the Friday evening after Thanksgiving, (or Black Friday) and New Year’s Eve, December 31st.

Also Santa Claus will attend the all Saturday Night Trains sessions leading up to Christmas. So come and make your request for a train set for Christmas.
