New Exhibits at TCMRM |
November 26, 2013 |
New exhibits at TCMRM’s Toy Train Division include two layouts at the opposite ends of the spectrum of model railroad scale layouts, G (largest) and Z (smallest). G scale layouts are usually in the 1:28 to 1:32 range, while Z scale is 1:220.
George Johnson from the Minnesota Garden Railway Society is graciously donating his time to construct a large 18 by 24 ft. layout depicting a G scale train layout on what was the Ross O Gauge Layout, the first layout TCMRM had on display at its Toy Train Division.
The Z scale layout owned by TCMRM member Barry Krelitz depicts an alpine village with Marklin trains, a German train maker, and is only 2 by 3 ft.
New also is The Lionel Operating Accessories Display. This new interactive display has 30 Lionel postwar operating accessories which guests may operate - some requiring supervision but many are free to be operated at any time. Constructed to mimic the look and feel of a 1950s Dealer Display, this exhibit showcases some of Lionel's finest, and "funnest", creations.
For Lego fans, the Twin City Lego Train Club will have a Lego train layout on display at TCMRM’s Bandana Square location during its Night Trains season November 29th through February 22.
Come see what’s new, as well as your old favorites, at this Night Trains Season beginning with the Night Trains Premiere on Black Friday, November 29th.”
