Celebrate National Train Day with TCMRM

Celebrate National Train Day, May 11th, at the TCMRM Spring Hobby Show and Sale

National Train Day

The Twin City Model Railroad Museum will observe National Train Day, May 11, 2013 at its annual Spring Fairgrounds Hobby Show and Sale in the Education Building, 1372 Cosgrove Street, Falcon Heights, MN at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights, MN.  The show opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 3:00 p.m.

Model Railroad layouts in a variety of scales will be on display including the TCMRM’s traveling Thomas the Tank Engine layout, which can be operated by little engineers of all ages.  Engineer Paul from The Choo Choo Bob video series will also perform live on stage. Also on display will be dozens of vendors and collectors selling model railroad items in variety of scales and sizes.

Admission to the show is $6 per person for ages 5 and above, free for children under age 5.  No advance ticket sales, tickets may be purchased only on May 11th at the show or the museum.  Admission to the show will also entitle show goers to admission to Twin City Model Railroad Museum.


 
Burlington Day

TCMRM will feature the Burlington Railroad on Sunday, May 12th.

A special attraction for the weekend will be author Charles McCreary who has a new book called Train Pictures, a Railfan’s Memoir.

There will be a special book signing May 11th at the Fairgrounds Show and Sale and on May 12th at Bandana Square.

Be sure to check it out, the book has a very interesting story, lots of maps, photos, and other information.

You’ll enjoy the photos and Charles has offered to reprint any in his book in a much larger format for a reasonable fee.

He will bring a selection of these larger prints to the two events.

Admission & Location
 

Museum admission is $6.00. Admission for children under 5 is FREE. This includes admission to the new Toy Train Division next door in the Chimneys Building on Saturdays and Sundays.
