The Twin City Model Railroad Museum has been in St. Paul, MN since 1934. It is our goal to provide a place for generations to pass down their love of toy trains, for those new to the hobby to learn more, and for hobbyists to share their interest with the public. Our museum sees more than 30,000 guests annually and hosts many special events throughout the year including our incredibly popular “Night Trains” events.  Our O Scale 2 Rail layout has been in Bandana Square for the previous 31 years and in 2009 we added the Toy Train Division with many additional layouts representing every scale of model railroading in the adjacent Chimneys Building. 

The Museum's has been located in Bandana Square for the past 31 years, but having a museum in two different buildings with different hours and different landlords makes for a difficult operation, a fincancial burden and a general disservice to our amazing guests and volunteers!

But not much longer!!! In late October our membership will be voting to select one of several new facilities that will bring our Toy Train Division and Bandana Museum under one roof! While we are unable to give specifics until the vote occurs we are happy to say that any move would still keep us local, minimize or prevent any long closure, and allow us to grow! We hope to add birthday party spaces, room for traveling exhibits and the ability to display a huge HO layout that has been donated to us plus having room to host scout groups, seminars, book signings and more! Visitors may even have the ability to watch some real trains roll by!

The fundraising campaign, using the campaign site FundAnything, (http://fundanything.com/en/campaigns/help-the-twin-city-model-railroad-museum-expand) will help to strategically place the Museum in a better position that will align with our mission and our goals as we look into the future offering new amenities at a lower cost. It will pay off all remaining expenses to our 2 current landlords and help cover moving costs into a combined facility. If we exceed our goal the additional funding will help restore and display a massive HO layout that has been recently donated to our museum, but due to lack of space has not been able to be put on display.
