Night Trains Are Here!

Night Trains season is a special holiday tradition at the Twin City Model Railroad Museum beginning this Saturday, November 3, 2018 and running every Saturday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm through the last Saturday in February (February 23, 2019).

Night Trains season comes to the model railroad layouts in a magical way, the lights are turned down, the buildings and street lights glow warmly, setting the scene for specially lighted models of vintage passenger trains. The make believe town of Matlin is buried in a blizzard, and throughout the Museum the layouts are adorned with miniature Christmas lights and decorations.

This year Santa will be visiting the Museum on Saturday, December 15th AND December 22nd! He will have a sack of goodies for good girls and boys. Bring your camera and tell Santa about the train you want for Christmas. There’s no additional admission to see Santa!

Admission to this special show is $15.00 per person and FREE for children age four and under. Discounted group rates are available for groups of three or more (max 10).

Since 1934, the Twin City Model Railroad Museum has been dedicated to educating and informing the public about both the history and benefits of model and toy railroading as well as the history and importance of railroading to the development of the Twin City area itself through multiple interactive layouts and displays.

Now reopen at our new location for several years, the museum is seeing growing revenue and great reviews for the new space - But - we have a lot of work to do to develop this new space into a world class museum. We are working diligently with museum planning organizations to design a one-of-a-kind toy train museum!

Donations will go directly to the construction and installation of hands-on, interactive train layouts, interpretive information and other public use amenities that will focus on the history of model trains, toy train collection and the connection to the real railroads that have shaped the Twin Cities!

Military Train Weekend November 10th-13th!

In honor of Veterans Day the museum presents Military Trains Weekend:

Saturday, November 10th from 10-5
Sunday, November 11th from 12-5
Monday and Tuesday, November 12th and 13th from 10-3

What is Military Trains Weekend?

In honor of all past and present military members we display and operate a whole host of military themed trains. Even today in real life the military uses railroads to haul equipment all across the country and we model in miniature on our toy train layouts.

Admission:

Admission to this special event is included in the Museum’s regular admission price of $10 per person, Children 4 and under are admitted free of charge. Family and group rates are available!
