Can You Keep Us on the Rails?
To our loyal Friends and awesome supporting Members and Donors, we thank you: and like never before, we need you! September 30th marked the ending of our Fiscal Year 2020 and October began Fiscal Year 2021 with our Annual Meeting being held virtually recently.
It goes without saying that 2020 was both a year of great progress and then great setback with the advent of a worldwide pandemic with heavy local consequence.
November is the usual time to kick-off our Annual Fund drive with the extra boost of Give to the Max; an opportunity to support your favorite Minnesota Non-Profit
organization. We hope we can double or quadruple our modest $5,000.00 goal on Give to the Max Day as we launch Pandemic Survival Campaign 2.0 that we have dubbed our “Keeping on the Rails” Fund. Specific Memorial Fund donations will be tracked to our Capital Campaign for implementing the to-be-updated Interpretative Plan and build-out of the expansion area that we acquired last
year.
We invite you to continue your generosity and support with your gifts and with your visits, keeping safe and being understanding of the changes we have had to make to protect our guests and our volunteers.
The following guidelines for visitors remain in place:
Advanced Tickets Requirement
To ensure limited capacity and space for social distancing, the museum has moved to a system of timed tickets sold online. Tickets can be purchased at tcmrm.eventbrite.com for both Regular Admission and for Night Trains™. All visitors, including kids and members, will need to get a ticket before a visit, paid or free. Tickets can be acquired for timed entry for subject to limited availability. Get your tickets at tcmrm.eventbrite.com. After entering, visitors can stay for the designated time slot. Building visitation is limited to 25% capacity at all times.
Health and safety requirements
Visitors over the age of 2 are required to wear masks, keep a distance of 6 feet from others outside their household and wash or sanitize hands frequently. Since some museum exhibits do require a hands-on aspect there will be frequent sanitization of all buttons. Families should know that for the short term all wooden train layouts in children’s play area have been removed. Guests will be encouraged to follow a consistent route through the museum to help with social distancing. Signage with
these reminders will be posted around the museum.
The Magic continues as we each do our part to continue the legacy of the Twin City Model Railroad Museum, honoring past and future generations. We will get through this together!
Sincerely,
Oscar M. Lund, Jr
